Important Days in May 2021 | Holidays in May | Happy Days 365

April is leaving us with that cool, windy chill still in the air!  So much for warmer sunshiny days!

Let's hope the merry month of May finally brings us SUNSHINE & WARM TEMPS!

However, the children have been having a blast on the playground looking for buds on the trees, grass and flowers sprouting and growing right begore their eyes!

April was a super short month for us!  We spent a lot of time preparing for, learning about and celebrating Easter.  We talked about how Jesus is forgiving and we always have the opportunity to say we are sorry and to start over as well as how much God cares for them by observing Jesus's life.  From his celebration through Jerusalem on palm Sunday to his death/passion & resurrection on Easter Sunday.  Easter is best described to littles as new life, renewal of nature through springtime.  We painted with feathers, looked daily for all the new signs of life in nature.  We made fluffy cute cotton ball bunnies, colored eggs and designed special cup baskets to bring our new eggs home in.  We also counted, sorted and created a new flavor of jelly beans.  We experimented with peeps, soaking them in water & oil to observe the changes as well tried them to see if we liked them!  Yummy! Best of all was the Boom Chicka Easter dance!  After vacation, we celebrated Earth Day & Arbor Day!  We discussed what the earth is made of and all the important ways to take care of it so we always have a beautiful place to live!  With that, we talked about the importance of recycling, properly throwing our trash away, saving water & reusing.  We painted beautiful Earths with watercolors and sorted recyclables.  Taking care of the Earth led us into planting, the parts of a plant/flower and what each plant needs to survive.

April is here at last and hopefully to bring lots of sunshine and warm spring like temperatures!  We hope!

It's a very short month for us, only 14 school days!  Crazy!  We will still be very busy!  Our themes include baby animals, hatching chicks & ducks, and lots of bunnies in preparation for Easter!  After vacation, we will talk about Earth Day & Recycling while we then move into planting and growing!

  • Please remember to check the folder in your child’s backpack every night.  We use this to communicate and transport notices from school to home and home to school.  With drop off at the door; it’s very important to share any information with us through notes in the folder or email me directly.  I try to check it throughout the day.

  • PLEASE REPLACE AS NEEDED - All children need a complete set (underwear, shorts, shirt, socks) of clothing to be kept here at school in case of spills or accidents. Please replenish items should they be sent home.

  • Please remember to label everything that comes to school (lunchboxes, water bottles, nap items, and especially clothing) since the children all wear the same thing everyday.
